Thailand's decarbonisation commitments in its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement have triggered new rounds of renewable energy deployment, with over eight GWp of greenfield wind and solar projects announced or in the procurement pipeline.
[pdf] The projects will deploy approximately 370 SolBank 3.0 units, with construction expected to commence in Q3 2025. Following commissioning, e-STORAGE will oversee system maintenance and operations under a 20-year LTSA, ensuring long-term performance and reliability.
[pdf] This new strategy, which foresees investments of around $80 billion (€73 billion) by 2050, provides in one of its plans that Mozambique will develop, in the first phase of its implementation, by 2030, “at least” 1,000 MW of new solar photovoltaic capacity in Dondo, Lichinga, Manje, Cuamba, Zitundo and other locations “to be identified”, and 200 to 500 MW of new onshore wind power capacity, namely in Inhambane, Lagoa Pathi.
