BESS will become increasingly important in the future as New Zealand’s power system relies on more intermittent and variable generation.

[pdf] GazelEnergie and Q Energy have inaugurated a 35MW battery energy storage system (BESS) project on the Emile Huchet site in Saint-Avold, Moselle, in France. The BESS will provide services to the electricity grid via RTE, France´s transmission system operator.
