Swiss energy company MET Group has inaugurated the largest stand-alone electricity storage system in Hungary’s history. The new installation, located at the Dunamenti power plant in Százhalombatta near Budapest, has a rated power output of 40 MW and an energy storage capacity of 80 MWh.
[pdf] Jointly developed by National Energy New Energy Research Institute and Ningxia Electric Power Co., Ltd., the project employs hybrid grid-forming technology tailored to western China’s renewable-rich grids, focusing on configuration optimization, low-cost sodium-ion integration, cluster management, and hybrid grid-forming validation.
[pdf] This project consists of 15 MW PV and 600 kWh ESS. The PV modules are installed on the rooftops of the campus's 41 buildings and are all equipped with optimizers. The ESS improves the PV self-consumption rate and provides backup power.
