Dutch startup Ore Energy has connected its iron-air battery to the grid in Delft, the Netherlands. The company announced the system is the first of its kind to be fully operational and grid-connected in the world, while also being the first fully-built in the European Union.
[pdf] MANILA, PHILIPPINES (10 December 2024) — The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has signed a transaction advisory services agreement with Samoa’s Electric Power Corporation (EPC) to support the development of a solar photovoltaic and battery energy storage systems with installations planned for the country’s two largest islands, Upolu and Savai’i.
[pdf] The project, considered the world's largest solar-storage project, will install 3.5GW of solar photovoltaic capacity and a 4.5GWh battery storage system. The project has commenced in November 2024.
