In a recent project on a large, densely populated island, DEPCOM modeled 15 different battery systems with varying technologies and multiple system configurations against local requirements to save millions in avoided augmentation, replacement and installation costs.
[pdf] The collaborative project “ AddESun ” aiming to safeguard the future of lead-acid batteries was launched in September 2017. The list of project goals includes a more sustainable production, improved charging behavior, longer service life and higher power density.
[pdf] The project, considered the world's largest solar-storage project, will install 3.5GW of solar photovoltaic capacity and a 4.5GWh battery storage system. The project has commenced in November 2024.
