The Botswana energy storage project is quietly becoming Africa’s dark horse in the clean energy race. As of March 2025, this $120 million initiative has already deployed enough battery capacity to power 15,000 homes during peak demand.
[pdf] Northern Lights is the world’s first merchant CO2 transportation and storage project. The first phase of the project has a storage capacity of 1.5 Mt CO2/year, which has been fully booked by customers from Norway and Continental Europe.
