The Garissa Solar Plant is the largest grid connected solar power plant in East & Central Africa. This is the first time that Kenya has developed a major solar power plant to harness its abundant solar energy resource to diversify the power generation mix and reduce energy costs.
[pdf] Thurrock Storage, the UK’s largest battery energy storage system (BESS) developed by Statera Energy is now energised and delivering electricity to the grid. This landmark 300MW battery storage site is capable of powering up to 680,000 homes with instantaneous power over two hours.
[pdf] Construction commenced in March 2025 on the Basra Sun project, a 1,000 MW solar power plant developed through a joint venture between France’s TotalEnergies and Qatar’s QatarEnergy. This plant is expected to supply clean electricity to over 350,000 homes upon completion.
