The Centre has approved the transmission infrastructure needed to evacuate 500 megawatts (MW) of power from the state's proposed offshore wind zone, according to the Union ministry of power.

This tender marks a significant step in establishing India’s first offshore wind transmission infrastructure, in line with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) goal of 30 GW offshore wind capacity in Gujarat.
