In partnership with Space Solar, Reykjavik Energy, and Transition Labs, Iceland aims to build a solar power plant in orbit, projected to generate up to 30 megawatts of electricity — enough to power thousands of homes.
[pdf] Located in the city of Barranquilla in northern Colombia, this project will consist of a 45 MWh lithium-ion battery energy storage system and is expected to reach commercial operation by June 2023.
[pdf] In December 2024, Verano Energy signed a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Abastible, ensuring stable revenues for the project while directly supporting the decarbonization of Chile’s energy matrix. Construction is underway, with commercial operations expected by the end of 2026.
